Resonance & Roots: Amplifying voices at UWSP

Welcome to Resonance & Roots, a project dedicated to enhancing campus resources and advocating for racial equity for the University of Stevens Point Campuses. Discover our mission to identify needs, pinpoint gaps, and advocate for meaningful change within our community.

Our mission

We are focused on understanding the immigrant experience, how individuals feel represented, and the barriers they face in accessing vital campus services like Health Services or Financial Aid. Our goal is to create a more inclusive and equitable environment  at UWSP for all.

Our focus areas

Through our research and advocacy, we identify crucial areas for improvement to better support our diverse student and staff population. Our efforts are tailored to meet specific needs and create lasting impact.

Diversity /immigration support:

Identifying and addressing the need for specialized support systems for immigrant students and staff.

Culturally specific healthcare:

Advocating for healthcare services that are sensitive to diverse cultural backgrounds and needs.

Specialized food options

Working to ensure the availability of food options that cater to various dietary and cultural requirements.

Safe social spaces

Creating and promoting safe, inclusive social spaces for BIPOC and immigrant networking.

Our research and archive

Findings from our Equity Study are summarized and shared on this website, serving as the Resonance & Roots  digital archive. This collection provides resources and voluntary personal stories of resilience and success, creating a confidential space for sharing experiences and empowering our community.

Stories of resilience

We are proud to share personal stories that highlight the strength and success within our BIPOC and immigrant communities. These narratives bring visibility to world issues and empower individuals.
